Vast Narratives

An odd hobby of mine is collecting “vast narratives” – essentially, any work of fiction that demands unusual amounts of dedication either by the creators or the audience. It evolved from a search to find the world’s longest novel, a criterion that I eventually realized was too vague to be useful. Over the years, I’ve refined my method to be a little more scientific. I hope to use this space to present the method and my findings.

Although I didn’t win (I tied for runner-up), here’s a collection statement I submitted for a book collecting prize. Kirkpatrick Prize for Book Collecting
